Forcing Clicks
July 11, 2008 by Todd Miller
Forcing Clicks is similar to Cookie Stuffing, with one very important distinction. The mechanisms used to trigger Cookie Stuffing are server-side. Meaning, it is a web page, website or web server that is doing the Cookie Stuffing. Forced Clicks are triggered by Hijackware, software installed on peoples personal/work computers, so the mechanism is on the users, or client, side.
As with Cookie Stuffing, there are many ways to Force Clicks, but the point of the exercise is still to deploy a commission-tracking cookie on a users computer without that user clicking on any ads.
